(6)In this page, it starts to consult
you on broad topics related to corporate management; it involves talent recruitment and contains
themes you have publicly shared that you may have previously given less
consideration to the personalities of talents. Please allow me to know:
a.Typically, what methods
you use to identify aspects you may have overlooked in
interviewing talents or managing the company?! How do you ensure that these methods are sufficient?!
How do you determine whether those new knowledge or approaches acquired are suitable for your business environment?!
b.In the process of
interviewing talents for recruitment, what is the most memorable question you
were asked?! How did you respond?! Did that talent join your company?!
c.What is
the most memorable response you received?! What question you asked?! Did that
talent join your company?!
d. How would you respond to this question:
What is your management style?! Please share your daily communication
approach with colleagues, the way you identify problems, the general process
for resolving issues, and how your employees would describe you as a leader?!
For example: strict, controlling, trusting of employees, empowering employee
autonomy… etc.
e. How you would respond to these questions if job seekers ask:
i.Thank you
for hiring me; I am gay and I would
like to disclose this to the company as I am aware that Mr. Musk has expressed
opposition to issues regarding his children’s transgender status, and I hope
could know if there is risk I’ll encounter unequal treatment in the company in
the future?!
ii.This department is
responsible for the role of external communication, and if I were to manage
external communications, what your thoughts are on this approach or you would
agree or not?!
(i)I’ll discuss with
you as soon as possible after taking the role to determine the timeline for
obtaining authorization for my department serving as the sole unit for the company’s
external communications.
(ii)We would
standardize the format and rules of communication content and obtain your prior
approval to establish internal consensus, a
kind of policy…. another purpose
of this approach is to request other departments to cooperate on
operational details.
(iii) Regarding news about your personal life, as
it may impact the company’s image, we need your support to protect your
personal privacy and prevent others from manipulating your personal life
information into negative news. Therefore, we will not proactively clarify past
personal or company-related negative news; however, if someone [repeats]
similar news or brings up old matters, our approach would be to pursue legal
action, and we will discuss with you before release the content.
Thank you for hiring me; this role involves employee relations and workplace culture management. May I discuss with you a formal approach to internally inform employees about certain media rumors regarding your personal life, specifically the status of OO and OO, ensuring that employees will no longer encounter strange rumors in the future and need not worry about any moral controversies involving the boss or colleagues in the workplace?!
Whether true or false, these rumors may cause fears in the female employees because of this kind of work environment; everyone may question the credibility of the business leader and the company until genuine clarification is provided.
i.v. Thank you for the
interview opportunity; this role involves employee relations and workplace
culture management. Are the news reports about you monitoring employees’
computers true?! What I mean is, would
you accept replacing the practice of monitoring employees’ computers with
methods such as routine employee self-reporting or meetings?!
Alternatively, what are the primary matters you aim to monitor? I hope to know your needs to develop an
alternative management approach rather than computer monitoring, and would
you be open to such an idea?! This issue has been discussed in my previous work
environment, where no employee appreciated being monitored, and it noticeably
reduced workplace trust and cohesion.
Your perspective on freedom of speech in managing X seems potentially
inconsistent with the purpose of monitoring employees’ computers, and may I
know your considerations on this matter?! Is it possible to allow employees,
through a specific application process or after completing a probationary
period and they are able to exempt from computer monitoring?! I am confident in my self-discipline
but feel uncomfortable with computer monitoring.
Is that a false news report?!
f.As you mentioned, you hope others
support you sincerely rather than with hidden motives; please allow me to know
that if there is a talent with strong professional capabilities and suitable
for work opportunities of your company(SpaceX) in all aspects and this person honestly expresses this idea to
you, will you still consider hiring this talent?!
[I do not agree with business leaders
investing substantial resources and funds in the endeavor to assist human migration to Mars when it is uncertain whether this
mission can be accomplished within their lifetime, as this implies
uncertainty in securing successors, and future
uncertainties could lead to the potential waste of current investments.
I support SpaceX’s other operational goals and I am confident in my
professional capabilities to achieve tasks. Even for work I do not personally endorse, as long as it is legal
and does not violate professional ethics, I will fully commit to it.]
g.In talents
search and recruitment interviews, companies may request candidates to
introduce their personality traits and soft skills to help first-time
interviewers better understand what kind of person the candidate is; and similarly,
to help someone meeting you for the
first time understand (1) what type of leader you are and (2) what kind of
person you are, what key points you would highlight?! (1) and (2) are not
alike, (2) involves personal life after professional work and values those
description regarding people and things you need to deal with, your point of
view and idea outside of professional contexts. For example: A and B would have
different self-introductions and personality traits—
A: I dislike hints and prefer direct
communication. If I don’t understand something, I ask directly, and I don’t
believe asking questions should consider one’s age or experience. Direct
communication does not necessarily cause offense, it depends on communication skills and a sincere attitude.
B: If I realize I don’t know something during a
gathering, I feel embarrassed and behind. In such cases, I tend
to listen, refrain from offering opinions or express that I’d rather not
discuss the topic. I express my needs tactfully to avoid offending others. Some
may think my approach wastes time
or causes misunderstandings, but it
makes me feel like a courteous person.
The purpose of this question
incorporates themes from online news topics, it is mainly because the way the
business owner or high level executives deal with things impact on the business
image and reputation, I hope could use it to understand the business owner’s
idea or the company’s opinion.
